Modern medicine and its attempt at acute fixes

For persistent, elevated levels of drainage affecting voice and sleep

PCP recommended allergy medication, then referred me to ENT.

ENT prescribed amoxicillin, doxycycline, then levofloxacin (a floxy!). Also looked down my throat twice to observe inflamed vocal cords, with two lab samples sent off for growth which both returned naught.

Allergist prescribed esomeprazole, recommended not eating 4-5 hours before bedtime, nasal sprays, and reduction of inflammatory solids and liquids.

Gastroenterologist recommended stronger PPI and an endoscopy.

Now, I'm attempting the following to restore proper digestive functionality:

  • Drastic increase in consumption of fermented foods including yogurt, kimchi, kefir, pickles, sauerkraut, sourdough bread, and kombucha
  • Betaine HCL with pepsin 650mg 1x per meal
  • Essential enzymes 500mg 1x per meal
  • Apple cider vinegar capsules 2x per meal
  • Psyllium husk caps 500mg 3x per meal
  • Reduce caffeine intake
  • Alignate gel after each meal
  • 0.9% sodium chloride saline inhaled from a nebulizer for voice horaseness
